Germany - Bielefeld to Cologne

The Richter Window (left) is well known and made of genuine antique mouth blown glass in 72 different colours by the artist Gerhard Richter. It was placed in the Cologne Cathedral in 2007 and has been quite contraversial in that it does not depict scenes as traditional stained glass windows often do (right). It comprises thousands of coloured squares placed randomly across the 100 sq m window.
